FORUM LOOKING FOR PAINTING. COLLECTING EVIDENCE - VERYFYING THE IMAGE
Looking for painting is a one-day public seminar focusing on painting, organised by researche fellow Partik Entian at the Bergen National Academy of the Arts, Dep. Art Academy. The seminar offers lectures and artist talks by the invited speakers Nina Roos (Finland), Pontus Kyander (Sweden) and Gerd Tinglum (Norway), as well as an introduction to Patrik Entian´s fellowship project Looking for Painting.
The programme and discussions will be in English.
Participation is free of charge. Please register by the 22nd of March as seating is limited.

Nina Roos is a Finnish artist educated from the Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki. She has participated in the 1995 Venice Biennale, the 1998 and 2004 Carnegie Art Award, and the 14th Vilnius Painting Triennial in 2010. Roos has exhibited in Norway several times, with solo exhibitions in Bergen Kunsthall in 2002 and at Kunstnernes Hus in Oslo in 2009 among others.
Pontus Kyander is a Swedish art historian, writer and curator. He has been Public Art Manager at Auckland City Council in New Zealand, and was appointed director of Sørlandets Kunstmuseum in Kristiandsand in 2009.
Gerd Tinglum is a Norwegian artist. She is educated from Fachhochschule für Gestaltung and Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg, The Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo, and Tokyo University of Fine Arts. She currently holds the position as professor of visual art at Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Spring 2010 she had a solo exhibition at Kunstnernes Hus in Oslo.
Patrik Entian is a Swedish artist, educated from Trondheim Academy of Fine Arts in 2000. He started his PhD-project Looking for Painting. Collecting Evidence - Verifying the Image at The Bergen National Academy of Arts in 2007.
