EXHIBITIONS MA-WEEKEND:
APICHAYA WANTHIANG
GEOGRAPHY OF A

Apichaya Wanthiang draws on a backlog of stories to construct her installation Geography of A – From -15 m to x, when the night is full of you / From -x to 9 m, all the while and then a certain stillness.

Through repetitions and movements, video and sound, two sculptural elements and the presence of the audience in space she is creating an atmospheric landscape based on ideas of dialogues. Her exhibition project discusses how we have the capability to tell stories. Wanthiang points out that we sometimes might experience to lack the story telling ability, while we still continue to communicate through pauses and utterances.

The MA-weekend is collaboration between Hordaland Art Centre and Bergen Academy of Art and Design. Twice a year the MA-students at the Bergen National Academy of the Arts are invited to submit proposals for an exhibition to be realised at Hordaland Art Centre, and a professional jury selects one of the proposals.
