FORUM EINAR GARIBALDI EIRÍKSSON

Each month our residency guests will present their own work, a chosen theme, a current interest or present their residency project. Our January resident guest is artist Einar Garibaldi Eiríksson.Thursday 13th of January he willgive a lecture at Rom 8, Vaskerelven 8, Bergen in relation to his exhibition Interesting Places.

Einar Garibaldi Eiríksson (1964, Iceland) has exhibited widely in Iceland and elsewhere, and will during his residency in Bergen show recent paintings at Rom 8, Bergen National Academy of the Arts’ project space. The exhibition is titled Interesting Places, where he visually have visited the Bergen Toursit Map. In his work he is exploring the language of cartography and that of the painter, in a continuous dialogue with the history of painting as well as its genres. From 2000 to 2008 he held the position of Professor at the Iceland Academy of Art.

The exhibition opens Monday January 10th at 19:00. It is also open January 11th - 15th from 12:00 to 16:00.
Thursday January 13th Eiríksson will give a lecture in Rom 8 at 19:00.
