RESIDENCY BEN CAIN (UK/HR)
Ben Cain is Hordaland Art Centre's September resident. During his residency, Cain will research an installation and a series of related texts, objects and posters that explore the notion of a 21st century workshop or communal workplace.
--------
Ben Cain (b.1975, Leeds) lives and works in London and Zagreb. He is primarily involved in the production of video installations, sculpture, audio work, performances and printed matter, which address the convergence of theatre and documentary, with a particular interest in facilitating and highlighting the viewers’ role in the emergence of subjects and objects. Cain’s work deals with the interplay of saying and doing, action and imagination, and language and bodily movement in the process of developing work that oscillates between the visible and the non-visible, the physical and the virtual. In the last year he has exhibited in various places including the Slought Foundation, Philadelphia; Garanta Perform, Istanbul; Wiels, Brussels; the ICA, London; and Lenbachhaus in Munich.
