MARIEKE VERBIESEN

Marieke Verbiesen works with animation, live performance and installations in electronic arts, where she uses old and new media. In addition she makes music videos and short animation films. 

 

Marieke Verbiesen (MFA, University of Groningen, Netherlands) has since 2003worked with different projects in electronic arts and interactive design. Her projects revolve around creative work with art, music and video based on computer games and hardware. She has participated in the collaborative project 8BitBo, and was one of the founders of Micromusic Norge.

She regularly teaches at Bergen National Academy of the Arts (KHiB) and The Art Academy in Trondheim (KiT), she works part time at BEK.

BEK-nights is a serie of lectures and presentations by artists and researchers at Hordaland Art Centre. The series is part of BEK's lecture- and education initiative to informe about and promote artistic research and developement in art and new technologies.
